 Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT):

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is an extremely time-effective form of treatment designed to treat a variety of issues: lack of confidence, social anxiety, depression, fear, phobia, and even relationship issues.

As your practitioners, we practice CBT because we know it works. During your initial 90 minute session, we assess your current issues, past encounters and patterns of thought. You will spend the next 12 sessions learning how to re-frame your thoughts to create more positive and healthy cognitions. These cognitions will change the way you interpret and handle yourself in situations. Our clients have always found these techniques extremely effective.

CBT treatment runs in cycles of 12 weeks following the initial assessment.

Our CBT Therapists are: Kimberly Moffit and Sue Sabijan.
Couples Counselling:

Even the most compatible couples can benefit from counselling. In my practice, I provide a safe and neutral environment for both parties, where it is possible to navigate through the issues in a constructive way. I
offer a third point of view in order to help you to see the situation from a different angle - as opposed to deciding who is 'right' or 'wrong'. My therapy is solution focused and productive, allowing you and your partner to achieve results after a minimal number of sessions.

Sometimes couples can find it easier to speak to each other and to say things they need to say in a controlled session with a third party present. Being able to let your guard down and feel safe with your partner opens the door for intimacy and connection to take place.

Confronting your issues as a couple is a difficult task, and sometimes you may feel anxious and uncomfortable about starting. Sometimes partners have different feelings about or expectations - that, for instance one partner may be more enthusiastic or at ease with the situation than the other.

It is my hope that this warm and caring environment will make you feel at home, and that you feel safe with my non-judgmental approach.

Some of the most common reasons couples seek counselling are:

  • Trust issues
  • Major life transitions
  • Money problems
  • Difficulty communicating
  • Parenting
  • Blended families
  • Household responsibilities
  • Coping with each other’s extended family
  • Life transitions
  • Overcoming grief and loss
  • Toxic or judgmental household climate
  • Lack of intimacy
  • Controlling or needy partner

Couples sessions are 50 minutes in length and are covered by most extended health care plans. Our Couples Counsellors are Ken Fierheller and Sue Sabijan.
Life Coaching

We believe that YOU have the potential to achieve what you've hoped and dreamed of all your life! Life coaching is a motivational process that enables you to refine your goals and turn them into a reality, all with the helping hand of a trained professional.

In addition to achieving your goals, it's essential to look at embedded patterns and themes in your life, and psychological behaviours and motivations that explain why you're there in the first place. We want you to face the world knowing that you have the tools to overcome similar life situations long after your life coaching sessions are over. Life coaching sessions generally run in groups of 12 sessions.

Our life coaching professionals are: Kimberly Moffit, Krista Roesler, Ken Fierheller, and Sue Sabijan.

Acupuncture:

Acupuncture is a form of ancient therapy and is an excellent compliment to counselling, psychotherapy, and personal growth. Our acupuncturist, Amira, has experience in treating anxiety, stress, sports injury, fertility, and pain management.

Our acupuncturist uses tiny needles, the width of two human hairs, on acupuncture points on different parts of the body to correct the movement of the qi. Other therapies such as warming the acupuncture points with herbs ("moxibustion") are also used. As well, your acupuncturist will work with you to identify possible lifestyle changes that can help you to achieve and sustain health.

Our Acupuncturist is: Amira Pinsker, M.Ac.
